Memorial for Boogie Street
A series of works developed in a residency at Santa Fe Art Institute, the works reference queer histories of Bugis Street in Singapore. Referencing a public bathroom where old images showed performances by sailors in the 70s, the work proposes the bathroom as a memorial. The paintings also then come across as shower curtains and a video on cruising is housed within a found lampshade.
