Three is a set of tables, customized to the specifications of a school table of the 1960s. Below is the inscription of confucian teachings, the three character classics. A critique of the education system and the concept of 'asian values'.
An installation work in response to photographs by George Porter, the work is a critique of the education system in Singapore. Modelling after school tables of the 1960s, they were replicated in white to signify the blank slate. Excerpts from the 'three character classics' were then carved under the table, and in a way, like how a naughty student is, carving answers to tests under tables.
