the boy who walked backwards (2016)

Working on queer melancholia and poetic resistance, The Boy Who Walked Backwards is an installation using an analogy to relate back to queer melancholia. The analogy is that of a fictional community of people who can only walk backwards. Using that, the work is an installation comprising of three parts, one being a performance where the analogy is developed as a presentation, drawing parallels of the queer community in Singapore and that of this fictional community. The second is that of a video which is developed from an interview and answered through images whereas the last is that of a book.
